This package is a real-time cover system designed for RTS games. It allows for quick and easy setup, making it ideal for prototyping and building games that require units to be in cover. The system is designed to emulate games like Men of war, Call to Arms, and Company of Heroes. It's perfect for level iteration, as it allows for quick level development without the need to place cover nodes for units. The system is highly configurable, with options to customize unit spacing, accuracy of cover, and more.
The system uses Unity's built-in unit nav mesh system to find cover, determine how to look over the cover, and correctly space units. It has multiple configuration options, including unit spacing, accuracy of cover, and the ability to find similar cover to one another at set distances. Additionally, the system includes a basic Unit AI that will move to the designated cover point and look over the cover correctly. This basic unit is a template for building custom combat AI.
