TerraFormer is a modular terrain shader designed for desktops and consoles, offering high-end features for realistic visuals in Unity. It supports up to 8 terrain layers in 1 pass, making it ideal for large-scale terrains. The package includes 2 demo scenes, 'Island' and 'Mountains', to showcase the shader's capabilities. TerraFormer works seamlessly with any 3D environment assets and can be customized using Unity's ShaderGraph system. The shader features a user-friendly interface, allowing for easy parameter adjustments and real-time feedback. It also includes a range of advanced features, such as snow, puddles, wetness, and tiling remover, to create realistic and visually stunning terrains.
TerraFormer supports Instanced Drawing for improved performance, and its features can be enabled or disabled in a modular form. The shader is compatible with Unity's terrain layer assets and can control normal map strength, metallic, AO, height, and smoothness for each layer. The package includes performance tips and known limitations, such as HDRP version not supporting Forward Rendering path and DX12 performance being lower than DX11. It is recommended to use mid-to-high range systems and GPUs, such as RTX 2000+ series for URP and RTX 3000+ series for HDRP.
