Origin Shift is a flexible client-side world-origin recentering framework that solves various floating precision issues in Mirror games. It is useful for open world exploration, space games, survival games, and procedurally generated maps. The asset provides accurate syncing of positions, supports various renderers, and has a configurable distance threshold and tick delay. It also includes a 4-page PDF guide, demo scenes, and tutorials.
Origin Shift works by moving objects in each client's world to recenter the player when a distance threshold is passed, and then synchronizing client positions based on their respective world offsets. The asset is customizable and can be extended via its API. It supports singleplayer, P2P, and dedicated servers, and is compatible with various components, including VFX graph, ParticleSystem, LineRenderer, and TrailRenderer.
